والدولابي في الكنى والاسماء‎ ‎ج 2 ص 88 عن الحسن ابن علي بن عفان قال: حدثنا الحسن بن عطية قال: أنبأ يحي بن سلمة بن كهيل ‏عن حبة العرني عن أبى قلابة [كذا في النسخ والصحيح: عن حبة العرنى ابى قدامة] قال: نشد الناس علي في الرحبة فقام بضعة عشر ‏رجلا فيهم رجل عليه جبة عليها إزار حضرمية فشهدوا أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه.‏
