[al-Jawáhir al-Mu_í'ah, Ibn Abí al-Wafá', Mu<yí al-Dín, Unidentified edition, , v. 1, p. 256 ] Considered Sharík to be \anafí. [Tadhkirat al-<uffá~, al-Dhahabí, Shams al-Dín Mu<ammad b. A<mad b. `Uthmán, Abú `Abd Alláh, Haydarabad: Dá'irat al-ma`árif al-ni~ámiyyah, 1333 AH, v. 1, p. 210 ] Al-Dhahabí said: He was one of the leading scholars. He narrated good traditions. He was an imám, a jurist (faqíh), and a traditionist with numerous traditions, though he was not equal to \ammád b. Zayd in skill. Al-Bukhárí has cited his tradition and Muslim has followed al-Bukhárí in narrating from him. Ya<yá b. Ma`ín has considered him reliable.
