A short article that out lines a historical perspective to the events that led to the eventual rising of Imam Husayn [a]. It draws a lot from his work, 'Khilafat o Mulukiyat', Idara Tarjamanul Qur'an, Lahore, Pakistan. In substance, it is a summary of this book. |
Purpose of translation:
Mostly personal research. Apart from the Shi'a treatment of the issue, that forms a doctrinal aspect to the event, it highlights the historical developments of the Caliphate and its eventual conversion to Kingship: a turning point in Islamic History. |
