Hakuna shaka kuwa historia ya mwanadamu ndio chemchemu na chanzo cha maarifa, chanzo ambacho mataifa yanakihitaji katika safari yake yenye kuendelea. Na ndio chanzo pekee chenye uwezo wa kuhuisha na kulisukuma taifa mbele na kulipa sifa na hadhi maalumu huku kikilifunganisha taifa hilo na miziza yake ya ustaarabu ambayo hulizuwia taifa dhidhi ya mmomonyoko.
Qur'ani inamhimiza kila mwanadamu ikimtaka azame ndani ya historia ya mwanadamu na azingatie yaliyomo ili awaidhike na kuongoka, hivyo Mwenyezi Mungu anasema: "Je, hawatembei katika ardhi ili wapate nyonyo za kufahamia au masikio ya kusikiliza...?" (22:46) Baada ya Mwenyezi Mungu kutoa historia ya Adi, Thamudi, Firauni, watu wa miji iliyopinduliwa na watu wa Nuh, akasema: “Ili tuifanye ukumbusho kwenu na sikio lisikialo lisikie.” (69:12)
Historia ya ujumbe mbalimbali wa Mwenyezi Mungu imejaa masomo na mazingatio, masomo ambayo yameonyesha jinsi Manabii watukufu walivyojali mataifa yao ili kuyaokoa kutoka kwenye matatizo mbalimbali. Haya na mengine utayakuta ndani ya kitabu hiki.
