Islam at your Fingertips - A Video Competition
The Ahlul Bayt Digital Islamic Library Project team is conducting a video competition. Participants will produce video clips demonstrating creative expression in the service of Islam. The three best videos will be showcased on Al-Islam.org, their producers acknowledged, and may also be broadcast on certain TV channels.
The theme of the competition is ‘Islam at your Fingertips’. As such, each clip will encapsulate any or many of the following characteristics:
- Demonstrate the availability and utility of online Islamic knowledge
- Show the impact of such material on believers and non-believers
The video clips may take any approach including:
- Showcasing useful material from the site, either any specific titles on Al-Islam.org, or the site in general
- Demonstrating how any material on the site has been helpful to you or others
- Taking a dramatic or humorous approach, but without detracting from the sanctity of the subject
- Any other approach
Al-Islam.org is one of many other useful sites carrying material on Islam as taught by the Ahl al-Bayt (‘a). As such it is perfectly acceptable for the video clip to refer to other sites as well.
The video clips may be any length, though we generally expect each submission to be no more than 10 minutes. The video clips may take any production approach including:
- Screencam type video
- Interview with real people
- Anything else your creativity allows
The deadline for submissions is 15 September 2009. Submissions may initially be shared using any video sharing site like Youtube, Vimeo and ShiaTV. If your submission is chosen as one of the winners, you will be asked to share the original video file.
Once the film is uploaded to a video sharing service, you can send the relevant link by filling the form at the end of this page.
Please share this message with anyone else who you think may be interested, including any suitable mailing lists.
