I have become unwell each Ramadan when I stop taking my mental health medication in the daytime. Is there something else I can do, as I feel like I am not fulfilling one of my most basic duties as a Muslim?

Illness has it's rules in Islam, including not fasting if illness can be initiated or worsened by fasting. I'll person who can not fast is not going against the orders of Allah, but obeying Him by not fasting.
