Is the Zakat mentioned in the Quran the obligatory Zakat that is on wheat, barley, dates, raisins, coined gold and silver, camels, cows, and sheep? If so, isn't such a Zakat not relevant today since most people don't own those things in abundance?

Zakat mentioned in Quran include all financial dues e,g. Zakat of the specific nine items, Zakatul Fitra, Khums, Nathr etc.
