Bismillah,

Asalamu Alaykom,

Many of us use social media as it can be beneficial in spreading Islam in addition to keeping in contact with those we know from friends and family.

Unfortunately on all platforms such as Facebook and YouTube, corruption may pop up from ads. If one unintentionally sees these types of things, then it is upon him to look away. If one would deliberately look at corrupt things whilst fasting, then it would of course decrease his reward but not break the fast.

Please watch a recent lecture I gave regarding this topic:

As for ghusl, this wouldn’t be needed unless you ejaculate. So if you see a haram picture by mistake and then you automatically ejaculate (which isn’t a common thing) then you would have to perform the ghusl of janabah.

May Allah grant you success

Bismillah,

Asalamu Alaykom,

A Muslim man (not female) can marry a non-Muslim who is from the people of the book. This includes Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians. Some scholars allow both permanent and temporary marriage with the above mentioned categories, and some only allow temporary marriage with them.

If someone says a Shahada and professes faith, we judge on the apparent and consider them Muslim. If however a Shahada was not taken seriously or said in a joking type of way, it has no value.

So if a person has the intention inside them to say the Shahada just to get married - and this has happened before - it will be accepted if we aren’t aware.

This is similar to hypocrites who utter the Shahada but don’t believe in Islam with their hearts.

If a non Muslim is genuinely willing to accept the faith and marriage is also a motivation for him, it will still  be accepted.

May Allah grant you success

Bismillah,

Asalamu Alaykom,

The circumcision is correct if approved by the expert who performed it that he took the foreskin off during the procedure.

Due to the penis being a living tissue, it may  sometimes change in size where all the penis head is exposed, and at other times, leaving some of the head covered as mentioned in your example.

After consulting with a brother I know who works in this field, and who is an expert in circumcision, he confirmed that your issue is common and wouldn’t be classed as ‘uncircumcised’. Many other adults he has checked also experience this after they were circumcised when younger.

Ulema say that the important part is for the top part of the head to be exposed (meaning the urinating hole).

Some extra skin sometimes going a bit over the head when it’s cold wouldn’t invalidate the circumcision as at other times the head will be fully exposed in a normal state.

The ulema also state that one can rely on those who perform circumcision to take the correct amount. So you may trust their judgement.

May Allah grant you success

Ghusl wouldn’t need to be repeated however, if this came out during the woman praying Salah, she should break the salah and make the place tahir of where the semen has leaked and then repeat the salah.

You will find scholars who say it is allowed to draw and paint pictures of humans and animals. Some scholars also say it is makruh so you should check the ruling of the marja you follow.

With regards to sculptures of living things, some scholars such as Sayed Sistani & Sayed Sadiq Shirazi don’t allow it on obligatory precaution.

One should see a specialist and doctor (preferably Muslim) to determine whether fasting could be truly harmful for them after recovering. If it was ruled to be harmful and you yourself know it that can harm you, then it’s possible for you to be exempted until your state improves.

May Allah give you success

The important point is that water reaches all of the areas that must be washed, so if one can do that in one wash or pour water which covers the required area, it would be sufficient.

Bismaillah,

Asalamu Alaykom,

Allah swt does not go through emotional states like humans do. If He did, then he would be comparable to his creation which is impossible. Therefore, scholars interpret Allah's love and pleasure as his reward to us, and his anger, as his punishment and chastisement as found in narrations. We can also see the love of Allah for us in his actions by the blessings he has given us and through creation.

Please read the following tradition from Kitab Al-Tawhid of Sheikh Saduq which may help you understand this matter more:

A man asked Abu `Abd Allah al-Sadiq (AS) whether Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, feels pleasure or anger. Thus, he (AS) replied, "Yes; however, it is not like the pleasure or anger found in created beings. Unlike human beings, pleasure and anger do not change Allah from one emotional state to another. Human beings are operated and composed. Things can affect human beings, while things cannot affect our Creator. He is One in Essence and Concept. Thus, His Pleasure is His Reward, and His Anger is His Punishment, without anything interfering with Him so as to ridicule Him and transform Him from one sate to another. Emotional changes are an attribute of the crated, the helpless, and the needy. While He, the Blessed and Exalted, is the Supreme and the Honorable, who has no need from any of His Creation although all of His Creation is in need of Him. Verily, He created everything without any need to create or innovate."

Bismillah,

Greetings of peace,

According to the Islamic belief, acts of worship should be done with the correct theological beliefs and understanding. One cannot know and truly understand how to worship God without going to the prophets, messengers and holy people that He sent to convey His message.

The Quran states:

“إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِندَ اللَّهِ الْإِسْلَامُ

Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam.”

-  3:19

It is however possible that some non-Muslims will be excused for not being able to find or ascertain the truth.

In Islam we also believe acts of goodness do not go unnoticed regardless of the person’s religion. But for acts of worship, these cannot be made up and must be done in the correct way.

May Allah guide you and all of us to that which is the truth.

Yes, if a sister can advise another in a good and kind way then she should do so.

“And the believing men and the believing women, they are guardians to one another; they enjoin good and forbid evil...” Quran 9:71

The ‘turban hijab’ isn’t considered as a valid form of hijab as it exposes the neck. This has unfortunately become a new trend due to so called hijabi youtubers. It is upon the educated sisters within the community to inform the women of the correct hijab.

May Allah grant you success

Bismillah,

Asalamu Alaykom,

One should be careful as this industry is one full of corruption and things which contradict Islam. Many movies contain roles which wouldn’t be suitable for Muslims . If however there are specific films which wouldn’t contradict Islamic values then this isn’t an issue to participate in them.

Choosing such a career could put one into some unwanted situations so one should try to assess the situations accordingly.

May Allah grant you success
