the Qur'an says: "Seek your sustenance from Allah and serve Him" (29:17).

It also says: "He (Allah) does not command you to take the angels and prophets as your Lords ("Arbab", plural of "Rabb"). Would He command you disbelief after you have submitted yourselves (to Allah)?".

It follows that an Imam also is not a Rabb and that only Allah is the Cherisher and Sustainer of the whole creation.

if the wife observes her husband's conjugal rights and he is financially able to provide for her, she should try to convince him with good advice and persuade him to rectify his conduct. If he is not willing to do that,  she can involve other people that she thinks may have influence on him (like relatives and friends). If this also doesn't work she may refer to an Islamic Judge who should decide the best reconciliatory course to the matter. Then, if he sees that there is no better option available, he may divorce them at wife's request.

It has been reported from the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, the following words:

"When a son of Adam dies, his deeds ends except for three: sadaqah jariyah, beneficial knowledge and a pious child who prays for him".

This hadith is found in "Sahih Muslim", "Bihar al-Anwar", "Muniyat al-Murid" and other sources.

Therefore one of the best acts a son can do for his deceased parents is to pray and ask forgiveness for them.

one of the best books of du'as is  "al-Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah" by Imam Zayn al-'Abidin, peace be upon him. Depending on your state and situation, you may choose a du'a from it to get close to Allah.

the verse 3:7 does not speak about Sunnis or Shi'as. Rather it says that we should not make ta'wil of mutashabih verses. For example, in reference to the fruits of paradise it is said: "Whenever they are provided with its fruits for nourishment they will say:- This is the what we were provided before!-. But they were given something resembling it" (2:25). Here the believer should not force himself to conceptualize the nature and the taste of the fruits of paradise as its reality (ta'wil) does not belong to this world and it will be given to him in the next life insh'Allah.

firstly, you may consider the following points:

1) Music promoted by mainstream media is usually considered haram. Actually many scholars of the Ummah consider haram any type of music.

2) Most of the time modern singers and pop-stars promote a non-Islamic attitude tending to corruption and indecencies.

3) Islam always disagreed with idolatry to the point that it is considered the gravest of all sins. A "pop-idol" is therefore far to be islamically-correct.

4) Physical attraction is not everything in Islam and Muslims are called to look also for serious commitment, establishment of family and good behavior in his (future) spouse.

5) Islam is a religion based on truth and Muslims should always incline towards it. However what modern singers try to show is often a fake image of themselves that do not correspond to the truth and it is often artificially constructed.

If you ponder attentively over these issues, insh'Allah your answer will be clear.

books in English language on "Islamic Medicine" are:

1) "Healing with the Medicine of the Prophet" by Ibn Jawzi.

2)  "Medicine of the Prophet" by al-Suyuti.

3) "Islamic Medical Wisdom" attributed to 'Abdullah Ibn Sabur al-Zayyat.

It would be appropriate to compare these books with more reliable collections of hadith and more specific essays on "Islamic Medicine".

the sunset (Maghrib time) marks the beginning of the new twenty-four-hour period (Yawm) or "day". For example, at Maghrib of Thursday starts the night of Friday (Laylat al-Jumu'ah) and at Fajr time of the night of Friday starts the daytime of Friday (Nahar al-Jumu'ah) and it lasts until the next Maghrib. The same goes for all the others days.

the Akhbari/Usuli discussion is mainly related to the realm of fiqh, specifically to the way of deduction of Islamic laws, although some implications may relate to other than jurisprudence. While Usuli scholars derive Islamic laws from Qur'an, Sunna, intellect and ijma', Akhbaris only accept Qur'an and Sunna as source for Islamic law. Some more radical Akhbaris rely only on the Sunna as per their saying that "the Qur'an should be interpreted exclusively through the Sunna of the Prophet and Ahl al-Bayt".

Practically, Akhbaris cannot overlook some sort of reasoning and Usulis do not discard the transmitted reports. Overall Usuli methodology is more strict on scrutinizing and authenticating the ahadith.

Some prominent Akhbari scholars were Mulla Amin Astarabadi, Mulla Muhammad Tahir Qummi  and Seyyed Hashim al-Bahrani.

according to some scholarly views, the term "Rafidah" existed before Zayd Ibn 'Ali and it was used to indicate those who oppose someone or something, especially an adverse established government.

In some Sunni sources, after the uprising of Zayd Ibn 'Ali, the term was attributed to those who deserted him when he reportedly refused to dissociate himself from the Shaykhayn.  According to this view, from this episode onwards, the term "Rafidah" was referred to indicate those who rejected the Shaykhayn or the three caliphs. Zaydi sources however attribute the Rafd (rejection) to the "rejection of Zayd" or  the"rejection of jihad" in more general terms. The Zaydis were among the firsts - if not the first - to write against the Rafidah meaning the Imamiyyah.

Eventually some segments of the Imamiyyah took pride in being called "Rafidah" and in several Imami sources the term has been used with a sense of honor.  However not all Imamis nowadays like to be identified as such.

Later on, in Sunni rijali books a distinction was done between a "Shi'i" as one who preferred 'Ali over all companions, and a "Rafidi" as one who rejects the three caliphs.

Selling alcohol is forbidden in Islam. There are cases, especially in non-Muslim countries, where a Muslim is compelled to work in a place selling haram items. In such case the person should commit him/herself to find a new job and he should ask Allah to change his situation towards a better way of life.

the Qur'an says: "And tell the believing women to restrain their looks and guard their chastity and do not disclose their beauty except what is apparent and hit their khimars over their bosom" (24:31).

Some scholars have interpreted the expression "do not disclose their beauty (zinah)" in reference to the hair also.

The khimar is a veil that covers the hair. Some have interpreted the "hitting over the bosom" of the khimar as "covering the face" indicating the passage of the veil from the top of the head to the chest but it is a minority view.

The Qur'an also says: "O Prophet! Tell your wives, your daughters and the women of the believers that they should draw lower upon themselves their jilbabs" (33:59).

The jilbab is a wide dress that should cover the hair also.

In both verses the reference is to "the believing women", so it is not to be taken as a cultural practice but religious one.

There are also several hadith explaining the necessity of covering of the head and hair.
