Some colour names, such as claret and burgundy, are named after the colour of wines. Is it permissible to use these names, or is it better to use non-alcohol related synonyms?

We should not promote using the names or Colors of wines. Wine is type of evil ) رِجسٌ مِن عَمَلِ الشيطان فاجتنبوه (Sura Al-Ma'idah, verse 90)
which should never be promoted by Muslims.
Hadeeth says: When a person dislikes something, he will dislike mentioning it and will dislike it's being mentioned in front of him.
Some people mention the letter W saying: W for wine or whiskey. This is wrong because it promotes an evil. We can say in stead: W for water or W for west or W for wing, etc.
Wassalam.
