It is extremely important to be ambitious and have good career prospects, wanting to be the best in your field and interests. However, if you do not live in an Islamic country that places boundaries between genders, then the occupation you choose must be well thought of, due to the shar'i issues that could arise.
Handling, or touching a non-mahram (on their skin) is haram, unless in necessary or emergency cases. If you become a chiropractor, are you able to work only with people of your gender? Are you able to decline clients who are of opposite gender? Are you able to wear gloves?
These are some of many scenarios that you will need to think of when you select a career. Obviously, it is not just in this field, but in a lot of other areas where there is physical contact, or seeing, etc.
