Shi'a

Shia (شيعة‎ Shīʿah, from Shīʿatu ʿAlī, "adherent of Ali"), also transliterated Shiah and Shiʿah, is a branch of Islam which holds that the Islamic prophet Muhammad designated Ali ibn Abi Talib as his successor and the Imam (leader) after him, most notably at the event of Ghadir Khumm, but was prevented from the caliphate as a result of the incident at Saqifah. This view primarily contrasts with that of Sunni Islam, whose adherents believe that Muhammad did not appoint a successor and consider Abu Bakr, who they claim was appointed Caliph through a Shura, i.e. community consensus in Saqifa, to be the first rightful Caliph after the Prophet. Adherents of Shia Islam are called Shias of Ali, Shias or the Shi'a as a collective or Shi'i or Shi'ite individually.

Bismihi ta'ala

This is a theological topic that is vast and extensive. Is it possible for a non-Shi'a to enter heaven.

In general, Shi'a Ulama do not condemn all non-Shi'ah to Hell. There might be some people who were not informed in any way about the true path of Islam and the true path of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.).

If there is someone who hates Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), and shows hostility to them, they are certainly condemned to Hell.

If there is someone who knows the true status of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), and out of stubbornity refuses to follow the truth, then of course their judgment will be harsh.

The important thing to mention in this topic is that as Muslims we must stay away from the Takfeeri mentality, and treat all Muslims equally in this Dunya. As for what happens in the Akhirah, that is with Allah ta'ala.

And Allah knows best.

Yes it is allowed for a Shia man to marry Muslim woman from any Muslim sect. Obviously every marriage must meet the aim of marriage in Islam and never be a cause of weakening faith or religious practice.

Allah (The Glorious) knows whom to appoint as an Imam and we have no authority nor capacity to know. We definitely believe that every order by Allah (SWT) is based on the absolute benefit of human beings and the whole universe.

Al-Hasan Al-Muthanna was never an Imam, as the Imamate after Imam Husain (AS) was to Imam Ali Zainul Abideen (AS). No one from Imam Hasan's sons or grand sons was an Imam.

All the names of the Twelve Imams were clearly mentioned by the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) in many authentic Hadeeths. (Ithbaat Al-Hudaat By Al-Hurr Al-Aamily in three volumes).

The major Sunni hadith collections were compiled before the major Shi'i collections primarily because the Shi'is had the 12 Imams to rely upon to answer their questions, and the 12 Imams are considered to be absolutely accurate in their transmission of hadith from the Prophet (S).

Additionally, Shi'is were subject to intense persecution for much of their early history, and so it was more difficult to compile such books.

As for the correctness or incorrectness of hadith, this is a subject discussed in depth in the study of hadith, and I would recommend that you read some books on the subject. Here is a suggestion: https://www.amazon.com/Introduction-Hadith-Abd-Al-Hadi-Al-Fadli/dp/1904063470

However, one area that the Shi'is had an advantage is that hadith were being recorded during the lifetimes of the Imams (in that the major compilations, such as al-Kafi, were not the first records of hadith), whereas Sunni recording of hadith, for the most part, only started a hundred years after the Prophet (S). (I use the term "Sunni" loosely here to refer to what eventually became Sunnism)

All Shia and Sunni scholars believe the the Faqeeh has authority in the interest of the religion and Muslims. Shia scholars have discussed in their books the limits of this authority as a matter of scientific research. While all of our scholars believe in the authority of the Faqeeh, they have different opinions about its limits and boundaries . Al Naraqi was a well known Shia Scholar who wrote about this subject, but no scholar said that the authority of Faqeeh is equal to authority of infallible Imams.

Thank you for your question. The relationship Imam Ali (as) had with the first three Caliphs was cordial, but that doesn’t mean that he condoned their usurping the Caliphate. Rather, the Imam (as) was careful not to sow the seeds of discord in the Muslim Community and after the people had decided not to follow the advice of the Prophet (saw), he worked for Islam within the parameters of the situation he faced. The Shia disapprove of the actions of first three Caliphs as they went against what they consider the express guidance of the Prophet (saw).

May you always be successful.

We should not cut ties with any relative even if they are bad to us and call us Kafir.

Our behavior should prove to them and other relatives our real identity and whether we are Kafirs or not.

Ahlul Bayt (AS) taught us to mix and treat our relatives and tribes with best manners. People wll then know the real teachings of Ahlul Bayt by seeing the good practice of the Shia.

Misyar marriage is a new name of a marriage with no condition of living together.

Urfi marriage is a marriage by agreement of both man and woman but with out registration in the government or religious authorities.

These types of marriage has come up among many Sunni brothers and sisters because of their denial of Mut'a marriage which is mentioned in Quran (4:24) and in authentic Hadeeths in Bukhari and Muslim and all main books of Hadeeth.

We, the followers of Ahlul Bayt (AS) do not need such types of marriages as we have the real types of marriage i.e. permanent marriage and temporary marriage which meet all the needs of human beings and save them from falling in sinful acts.

He has to be very polite and respect his parents and never make them feel insulted because of his choice of marriage. He has always to be just and kind to his wife and never allow injustice or insult to her. maintaining both sides needs wisdom and will power with seeking help of Allah (SWT).

Thank you for your question. One book I found really useful and inspiring when I started studying is A commentary on 40 hadith by Ayatullah Khumayni (r), and I still revisit that book and even teach from it now.

I would also recommend going through The Scale of Wisdom to get an idea of what the scriptural sources say on a variety of topics. InshaAllah I will be launching a podcast covering the book with a short commentary in the near future. To find the podcast just search my name or The Scale of Wisdom in any of the regular podcast platforms (such as Apple podcasts, Google podcasts, Spotify etc)

May you always be successful.

Thank you for your question. The Infallibles is a translation of the word Maʿṣūmīn in Arabic, which means those people that are protected from committing sins. They are protected because of the knowledge they have concerning the different sins and their outcomes. They are also protected from performing what is second best, meaning they always make the best choices because of their wisdom. These are very high stations that are only possible by Allah, His Wisdom and His Will and has been vastly theorised in Shii theology, philosophy and mysticism. However, the basis of this understanding of the infallibity of the Ahl al-Bayt (as) is the scriptural sources.

May you always be successful
