Ahl al-Bayt

Ahl al-Bayt (أهل البيت‎, Persian: اهلِ بیت‎), also Āl al-Bayt or Ahlul Bayt, is a phrase meaning, literally, "People of the House" or "Family of the House". Within the Islamic tradition, the term refers to the family of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. In Shia Islam the Ahl al-Bayt are central to Islam and interpreters of the Quran and Sunnah. Shias believe they are successors of Muhammad and consist of Muhammad, Fatimah, Ali, Hasan, and Husayn (known collectively as the Ahl al-Kisa, "people of the mantle") and the rest of the Imams from The Fourteen Infallibles.

We and all Muslims are been ordered by Allah (SWT) to take the meanings of Quran from the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) as he is the Explainer المُبَيِّن of the Quran. (WE REVEALED ON YOU THE THIKR (FUL KNOWLEDGE OF QURAN) SO THAT YOU EXPLAIN CLEARLY TO PEOPLE WHAT WAS REVEALED TO THEM). Sura 16, verse 44).

We are the only Muslim community who fully follow this order with out fail. We take the meanings of Quranic verses from the Prophet through the most authentic narrators who are his Holy Progeny (Ahlul Bayt).

All other Muslim sects have in their books different narrations which are a mixture of authentic and not authentic or personal opinions and even Israelites.

Writing Hadeeths were prohibited among Sunni Muslims by their leader Abu Bakr, Omar, Othman, and others for around hundred years till Omar ibn Abdul Aziz allowed it. Ahlul Bayt recorded and taught Hadeeths of the Proohet  since the time of the Prophet (SAWA) with out any gap.

The real meanings of Quran are nothing but what the Prophet explained, and that exactly was narrated by Ahlul Bayt (AS).

Deviating from Ahlul Bayt narrations is deviating from the authentic meanings of Quran and failing to obey Allah's orders to take Quranic meanings from the Prophet (SAWA) according to Quran 16:44.

We have narrations encouraging marrying from other families and not very near relatives especially when is an inherited illness in the family.

Cousin marriages took place among Ahlul Bayt (AS) like the marriage of Imam Ali (AS) and Lady Fatima (AS) , marriage of Imam Zainul Abideen (AS) and Fatima daughter of Imam Hasan (AS) and many other examples.

Not true. There is no evidence whatsoever to support such claim.

Prophets and Infallible Imams were born biologically like human beings but their status with Allah (SWT) is great and they are the most pure among all human beings. The Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) and his holy Progeny are mentioned in Quran (33:33) as The Most Purified. We believe that they are human beings and not angles, but their status is higher than all the great angles, and Allah only knows their status as our intellectual limits are less than containing their great status. The Prophetic Hadeeth says: O Ali, No one knows Allah fully but myself and you, and no one knows me fully but only Allah and you,  and no one knows you fully but Allah and myself. ( Manaqib Aal Abi Talib and Mukhtasar Basaa'r al-Darajaat and Madinatul Ma'aajiz and other books).

There are many books of Elm al-Rijaal mentioning the good companions who remained faithful to the Prophet (SAWA) and Ahlul Bayt (AS). Allama Sharafuddin of Lebanon mentioned names of 160 companions from them in his book : Jarallah questions answers, page 14 to 25.

Sayyed Hasan al-Sadr of Kadhimiyyah, author of Nihayat al-Dirayah, mentioned names of hundreds of faithful companions.

These books and most of Elm al-Rijaal books are in Arabic.

Most of the companions who passed away during the life of the Prophet (SAWA) or been martyred in the battles of that period are praised. Those who remained faithful after the Prophet are also praised.

Allah (SWT) appointed all the prophets and all their successors. Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) informed about the names of his twelve successors (AS). Jaabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansaari, the pious companion of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) was among those who were been informed about the names of the twelve Imams after the Prophet (SAWA).

Infallible Imam informs some of his most trusted followers about the Imam after him, and that also depends on the situation. Appointment is from Allah (SWT) and informing is from the Imam (AS) about his successor.

The Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) was asked when he recited this verse on the Muslims: Is it ordering us to do good to our kin or your kin? He replied: My kin; Ali, Fatima, and their sons. (Al-Haakim al-Hasakaani in Shawaahid al-Tanzeel , V. 2, P. 189) and Tafseer al-Qurtubi, V.3, P. 2.) . These are among Sunni references and among Shia references you can refer to Al-Kaafi 1:413.

We take the meanings of Quran from the Prophet (SAWA) as we were been ordered by Allah (SWT).

The meaning of this verse is not accurately translated by by many of non Arabic  translators. Amaanah in Arabic is not always Trust but it has other meanings as well including The Responsibility, The obligatory, The Liability etc.

The meaning of Amaanah in this verse has been mentioned in many Hadeeths from Ahlul Bayt (AS) as The responsibility to follow the orders of Allah and His Messenger and his successors 'Ahlul Bayt' which is result of having perfect 'Aql (intellect) which is only with the human beings. That is why the heavens and the earth and the mountains could not carry it because they are unable to carry it and they were apprehensive of it. They did not refuse it in a sinful refusal like the refusal of Satan to prostrate to Adam, but they were unable to carry because they did not have the intellect to fulfill its responsibilities.
