From `Abd al-Ra<mán b Abí Laylá who said: `Alí gave a speech saying: "I adjure by Alláh a person, with the adjuration of Islám, who has heard the Messenger of Alláh, blessings and salutations of Alláh on him, on the day of Ghadír Khumm take my hand and say: ‘Am I not more worthy of you, O Muslims, than yourselves? They said: Yes indeed, O Messenger of Alláh. He said: Of whomsoever I am master, `Alí is his master. O Alláh, befriend one who befriends him and be at enmity with one who is at enmity with him, and help one who helps him and forsake one who forsakes him’ – but that he should stand and bear witness."
Some ten people stood up and bore witness and the (other) people concealed (it).
They (ie those who concealed) did not go from this world before they became blind or contracted leprosy.
