روى في تاريخه 8 ص 290 عن عبدالله بن علي بن محمد بن بشران عن الحافظ علي بن عمر الدارقطني، عن حبشون الخلال عن علي ‏بن سعيد الرملي عن ضمرة عن إبن شوذب عن مطر الوراق عن إبن حوشب عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم. وعن أحمد ‏بن عبدالله النيري عن علي بن سعيد عن ضمرة عن إبن شوذب عن مطر عن إبن حوشب عن أبى هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏انه قال: من صام يوم ثمان عشر من ذي الحجة كتب له صيام ستين شهرا. وهو يوم غدير خم لما أخذ النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم‎ ‎بيد ‏علي بن أبي طالب فقال: ألست أولى بالمؤمنين؟ قالوا: بلى يا رسول الله! قال من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه. فقال عمر بن الخطاب: بخ ‏بخ يابن أبي طالب أصبحت مولاي ومولى كل مسلم. فأنزل الله: أليوم أكملت لكم دينكم. الآية.‏
