في تفسيره عند قوله تعالى: قل لا أسألكم عليه أجرا إلا المودة في القربى. قال: عن البراء بن عازب رضي الله عنه قال في قوله تعالى: يا أيها ‏الرسول بلغ ما انزل إليك من ربك. أي بلغ من فضايل علي. نزلت في غدير خم فخطب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثم قال: من كنت ‏مولاه فهذا علي مولاه. فقال عمر رضي الله عنه: بخ بخ يا علي. أصبحت مولاي ومولى كل مؤمن ومؤمنة: رواه أبونعيم وذكره ايضا ‏الثعالبي في كتابه.‏
