Núr al-Dín `Alí, Abú al-Fa_l al-Sháfi`í, Unidentified edition, , p. 133 ] Sa`íd was reliable, trustworthy, a jurist (faqíh) from the third [>abaqah]. He was killed in front of al-\ajjáj [b. Yúsuf al-Thaqafí] in 95 AH when he was not even fifty years of age. Jubayr was reliable, an imám, and an authority. Ibn Mihrán has said that when Sa`íd died there was no one in the world who was not in need of his knowledge.
