س ق النسائي وابن ماجة داود بن سليمان بن حفص العسكري أبو سهل الدقاق السامري مولى بني هاشم يعرف ببنان وهو به أشهر روى عن أبي معاوية الضرير وحسين بن علي الجعفي وكثير بن هشام ومحمد بن خداش ومحمد بن الصباح الدولابي وغيرهم وعنه النسائي وابن ماجة وابن أبي داود وعلي بن سعيد العسكري والخرائطي ومحمد بن العباس الأخرم وغيرهم قال بن أبي حاتم كتبت عنه مع أبي وهو صدوق وقال الخطيب كان ثقة قلت ذكره النسائي في أسماء شيوخه وقال شويخ كتبنا عنه بالثغر صدوق
