Relied upon by: Ahmad Abi Dawud Darimi Ibn Majah Muslim Nasa'i Tirmidhi مطر بن طهمان الوراق أبورجاء الخراساني ، مولى علي سكن البصرة و أدرك أنس ، عده الجافظ أبونعيم من الاولياء وأفرد له ترجمة في حليته 3 ص 75 و روى عن أبي عيسى انه قال : ما رأيت مثل مطر في فقهه وزهده . وترجمه إبن حجر في تهذيبه 10 ص 167 ونقل قول أبي نعيم المذكور ، وذكر إبن حبان له في الثقات وعن العجلى صدقه ونفي البأس عنه ، وعن البزاز : ليس به بأس رأى أنسا ولا نعلم أحدا يترك حديثه مات 125 ، وقيل : 129 . وقيل : قتله المنصور قرب 140 . أخرج عنه الحديث البخاري ومسلم وبقية الائمة الستة أرباب الصحاح .
