Relied upon by: Ahmad Abi Dawud Bukhari Darimi Ibn Majah Muslim Nasa'i Tirmidhi Salamah b. Kuhayl al-Hadrami was an inhabitant of Kufah, where he died on the last day of the year 121/December 6, 739. Some say that he died in the year 122, when `Ali b. Zayd was killed [Ibn Sa`d, VI, 221]. [Taqrib al-Tahdhib, Ibn Hajar al-`Asqalani, Shihab al-Din Ahmad b. Nur al-Din `Ali, Abu al-Fadl al-Shafi`i, Unidentified edition, , p. 154 ] Ahmad [b. Hanbal] and al-`Ijli have considered him reliable. [Khulasat Tadhhib Tahdhib al-Kamal, al-Khazraji, Safi al-Din Ahmad b. `Abd Allah, Cairo: al-Matba`ah al-Khayriyyah, 1322/1904, p. 136 ] Ahmad [b. Hanbal] and al-`Ijli have considered him reliable.
