Yes, it is related that the Prophet (S) was put under the care of Halimah bint Harith al-Sa'diyyah, who fed him and looked after him in his early years, and that this was a common custom of the Arabs at the time.

We follow Ahlul Bayt (AS) who lived with the Prophet (SAWA). No one in this Ummah knows about the Prophet (SAWA) and his teachings more than his own Progeny Ahlul Bayt (AS). Most authentic narrations from Ahlul Bayt (Aas) states that the Prophet was born on 17th of Rabi’ul Awwal, and his martyrdom was on 28 of  Safar year 11 after Hijra. (Al-Kafi by Al-Kulaini, Al-Tahtheeb by Al-Shaikh al-Tousi, Al-Irshad by Al-Shaikh Al-Mofeed and many other authentic books.).

'Wassalam.

You need first to know the meaning of the term (Imam). Imam means a divine leader. The divine leader for human beings can be the Prophet of his time, or a successor of a Prophet. Prophet Ibrahim was appointed by Allah as divine leader (Imam).  (2:124). This appointment came long after he was appointed as a Prophet then a messenger.

Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) is greater than Prophet Ibrahim and he Ws appointed as the divine leader for all human beings. His twelve successors are the Imams after him. Imam does need to be a Prophet but divine leader.

Bismihi ta'ala

There are references that when the holy Prophet (s.a.w.) went in his Mi'raj journey, Allah ta'ala communicated with the Prophet (s.a.w.), in the voice of Imam Ali (a.s.).  This is among the merits of Imam Ali (a.s.).

Of course, in Sunni sources, like al-Durr al-Manthur, v. 4, p. 154-5, it says the Prophet (s.a.w.) heard the voice of Abu Bakr.

But Sunni sources also narrate it being Imam Ali (a.s.).

We have absolute belief that Allah ta'ala does not have a body, or anything material, and even in this case of "communicating", it was casting the sound.

So, the voice was not Imam Ali (a.s.), but the casting of a sound to an angel that resembled the voice of Imam Ali (a.s.), because it was the most loved of sounds for the Prophet (s.a.w.).

Some Sunni references for this narration:

al-Manaqib, by al-Khwarazmi, p. 78, p. 6, h. 61.

Yanabi' al-Mawaddah, v. 1, p. 246, h. 28.
