Imam Ali (AS) did not use his sword against those attacked Lady Fatima (SA) because he was been ordered by the Prophet (SAWA) not to fight, as figh will ignite a civil war among the newly formed Muslim society which can lead to a collapse.

‘Imam Ali (AS) helped Muslims all the time even when his right was taken away by Saqeefa people, but he never gave allegiance to them nor did he pray with them as great Suni scholar (Al-Dhahabi admitted stating that Ali never prayed with Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman any Friday prayer nor any congregational prayer. (Siyar A'laam Annobalaa') by Al-Dhahabi.

Fi aman Allah

Every pious believer including the martyr will be dying with peace and will see Ahlul Bayt (AS) on his death, who will give him glad tidings about the Mecry of Allah for pious believers. Angles of mercy will also give the pious believer glad tidings and look after him. Martyrs never die, but remain alive in a type of life which we can not feel as Allah says in Quran (And say not of those who were killed in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are living but you perceive not. (Sura 2, verse 154).

Every believer who dies on the love of Ahlul Bayt will die as a Shaheed. This is according to Hadeeth narrated from the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) in Shia and Sunni books like

1- Tafseer Al-Zamakhshari V. 4,

2- Tafseer Al-Fakhr al-Raazi, V.27. P. 165.

3- Tafseer Al-Qurtubim V.16, P.22 and 23.

4- Tafseer Ibn Arabi, V. 2, P. 219.

5- 'Tafseer Al-Tha'aalibi, الثعالبي V. 5, P. 157.

6- Yanabee' Al-Mawaddah by Al-Qondoozi Al-Hanafi, V. 2, P.332.

Yes it is fully true that the real martyr is alive with Allah and his body does not rot. There are hundreds of cases witnessed by people when graves of martyrs were accidentally broken and the body of the martyr was seen fresh after hundreds of years of his martyrdom. There cases have been mentioned in many books. Recently when the grave of Hijr ibn Uday who was killed by Mo'awiyah in Syria was broken, people saw his body fresh after about 1400 years of his martyrdom. This is one of many other real cases.

'A book was published recently mentioned over 500 real similar cases.
