The Victor Of Mazandaran
The family of Sayyid Radi's mother are famous as the great grandchildren of Nasir Kabir - Husayn bin abi Muhammad Atrash1 in the books of history. He revolted against the powerful Abbasids Caliphs the Mazandaran province of Iran, and with the support of some dedicated Shi’i followers continuously fought with Samaniyans;2 and formed an Alvite Government in the Mazandaran province by defeating the Samanian Army. It was because of his valor, dedication, and self-sacrifices that he was able to introduce the life-giving Divine School of Is lam to the local Zoroastrian3 people; a majority of them finally accepted Islam. Apart from being a hero in the battlefield, he was also a distinguished learned scholar and Juristprudent who had written several literary works including his famous book Sud-Masale (One Hundred Problems), a commentary of which has been prepared by his great grandson Sayyid Murtada, who named it Nasiryaat.4
Nasir Kabir was martyred in the year of 304 A.H. in the city of Amul, North of Iran at the age of 79 years, and was buried in a tomb with a famous dome in the same city. After his martyrdom Hasan bin Qasim famous as "Daai hii-Haq" become his successor.
