Muslims are allowed rather encouraged to take active role in administration of their countries to help people and their community provided they avoid sinful acts which many politicians do like giving false promises, attending gatherings with sinful music, alcohol, etc.
Keep your self away from sinful acts, and take active part in your society and country to serve people and the community.
Wassalam.
