Sawm (Fasting)

Fasting in Islam, (known as Sawm (صَوْم) or Siyām (صِيَام), also commonly known as Rūzeh or Rōzah (Persian: روزه‎)), is the practice of abstaining, usually from food, drink, smoking, and sexual activity. During the Islamic holy month of Ramadan Sawm is observed between dawn and sunset when the evening adhan is sounded.

Whenever the period starts, fasting is finished and not valid. She can eat and drink whenever she needs but it is not good to eat or drink in front of fasting persons or children who don't understand why she is not fasting.

Not always. If fasting harms your health in any way either by initiating illness, or worsening an existing illness or by prolonging the illness time, then fasting is not obligatory but Qadha fast will be must later on.

Fast is immediately invalid as soon as the menstrual cycle starts even if one minute before Maghrib. You will get the reward of what you did, but you must keep that day later on as Qadha fast.

Your fast is valid. Bad thoughts which annoy you will not harm your faith nor your worshipping Allah.

Repeating Isteghfaar and repeating Salawaat and repeating La Hawla wala Qowwata ILLA Billah and reciting Sura Tawheed is very useful always especially in driving away satanic thoughts.

It is Not permissible at all. You must pray and fast according to the timing of the place where you live. Allah (SWT) ordered in Quran all Muslims to abide to the time of start of fasting which is Fajr, and end of fasting as the start of the night .(Sura 2, Verse 187).

Those who claim following different timings are deviating away from the clear orders of Quran and the authentic orders of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA).

If the 10 year old is a female, who has reached her shar'i age of bulugh, then yes, she will need to pay the kaffarah of 'feeding 60 poor', along with doing the qadha' of that day.

If it was a male, then no, he does not.

And Allah knows best.

There are a few highly recommended things at the time of iftar, when you are going to break your fast.

1. Praying on time. Prior to adhan, be ready for prayer, so when you hear the adhan, you pray on time.

2. Before you break your fast with food/water, recite this:

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْتُ وَ عَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ وَ عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ

Allaahumma laka sumtu wa a'laa rizqika aftartu wa a'layka tawawkkaltu

O Allah, I fast for You, and I break the fast with the food You give me, and I rely on You.

There is another narration, from Imam Ali (a.s.) that says when he broke he fast he would say:

بِسْمِ اَللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْنَا وَ عَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْنَا فَ‍تَقَبَّلْ مِنّٰا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ اَلسَّمِيعُ اَلْعَلِيمُ

3. Once you recited this dua, recite Surah al-Qadr, and then break your fast.

4. It is also recommended to pay sadaqah at the time of iftar.

With prayers for your success.

Fasting during the whole month of Ramadan is obligatory on every Muslim even if they don't know how to perform Prayers properly. You must fast and pray as much as you know and must learn as much as you can.

You should take help from those Muslims who know how to pray or pray with congregation.

In these matters it is crucial to refer back to your Marja' taqleed, for the specific ruling, but from the view of A. U. Seyid Sistani, if you were confident you did not have to redo those days as qadha', you do not need to pay kaffarah, but you do need to redo those days as qadha`.

And Allah knows best.

Qadha fast must be performed before the next month of Ranadhan. If you delay it, then there is a Kaffara for the delaying the Qadha fast. It is feeding one poor person for every delayed day of Qadha. Feeding means giving food either ready meal or food grains like wheat or rice etc. The amount is 750 grams per person per day.

In the case of haydh, the maximum number of days that you do not pray/fast would be 10 days, depending on the circumstances you are in.

If your blood is continous, then you will need to find out where during this period is your haydh days, and the rest being istihadhah. With the istihadhah days, depending on how much blood there is, you will still be able to pray and fast.

Please familiarise yourself with the rulings of haydh/istihadhah, and below is a presentation that could help you towards this, in shaa Allah:
