We , the followers of Ahlul Bayt (AS) are not meant to isolate ourselves from our societies. On the contrary, we should be always busy in serving people where ever we live. We should not be involved under any leadership away from the teachings of our real divine leaders who are Ahlul Bayt (AS).

Imam Al-Mahdi (AS) is the twelfth and last Imam in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) has clearly said that (My successors will be twelve, all of them will be from Quraysh) Saheeh Al-Bukhari;  Hadeeth number 6682 and Saheeh Muslim; Hadeeth number 3393 and 3394 and 3395 and 3396 and 3397.

Imam Al-Mahdi (AS) was born in Samarra in Iraq on 15 Sha'ban 255 After Hijra when the tyrant government of Abbasid were after trying to kill him knowing from hundreds of Hadeeths that he will be the Imam who will establish the Justice on this earth and remove all the tyrants.

Imam Al- Mahdi (AS) is living in this earth but Allah (SWT) has protect him from the evil of tyrants by making public unable to see him. Only few very sincere believers could see him but no one is allowed to publicize his place.

Imam Al-Mahdi (AS) guides people and protects them in the suitable way which Allah (SWT) guides him.

He will return to the public life when Allah (SWT) permits him, and will then establish the world of peace and justice.

Sincere believers are always ready to serve Islam under his leadership and guidance and always prepare themselves and their families and societies for that.

Wassalam.

There is no difference in the belief among Muslims that the Mahdi will be a descendant of ‘Ali b. Abi Talib and Fatima al-Zahra. Even the most bitter Shi’a-hating and Yazid-loving tiny segment of extremist Muslims have this belief.

That, right there, is an important point to ponder upon.

But the majority and brotherly Sunni’s have narrations suggesting that the Mahdi will be a descendant of Imam al-Hasan, rather than Imam al-Husayn, and that his father’s name will be ‘Abdullah.

For the Shi’a al-Mahdi is indeed the descendant of Imam al-Hasan, except that it is his father’s name, al-Hasan al-’Askari, himself a descendant of Imam al-Husayn.

The real difference, as mentioned in the question, is the narration that suggests the name of ‘Abdullah as the father. The Shi’a do not accept that, and neither do many Sunni’s.

In fact, there are a number of Sunni scholars who have acknowledged the birth of the Mahdi as the son of Imam al-Hasan al-’Askari.

There is Hadith about it but with some Hadith we can't be sure that it is 100 percent true and Prophet really told that.

According to  authentic ahadith Imam Mahdi is from Ahlulbeit. It is in ahadith that he is son of Fatima (daughter of Prophet).

To my knowledge there is no specific book of duas written by the 12th Imam (ajt). What we do have is a series of letters ( tawqi'at) attributed to the Imam many of which which were written by him or dictated by him. As for dua's there are numerous ones that are attributed to the Imam and can be found in early sources such as Misbah al-Mutahajjid of Shaykh Tusi ( d.460 Ah). Sh al-Tusi had numerous turuq or isnads reaching contemporaries of the Imam during ghayba al-sughra as did later scholars such as Ibn al-Mashhadi who narrates the famous Ziyarat Al Yasin which was taught by the 12th Imam when we wish to turn to him and seek his guidance. To conclude, there are numerous supplications and even some ziyarat which can be reasonably traced back to the 12th Imam. However there is no book written by him per say at least in any extant surviving form.
