You can use your savings to pay your mortgage before the date of your Khums, then when your date of Khums, you will have no savings to pay Khums from. But if your date of Khums comes and you have any savings,bayou must then pay Khums of that savings. Wassalam.

His son can pray next to him or behind him with intention of Furada prayer. If the father has the conditions of leading congregational prayer, son can pray behind his father with the intention of congregational prayer.

Is it better for me to pray Fajr in congregation at a Sunni mosque where the prayer starts 15 minutes after the Adhan, or should I pray at home instead?

The reward if praying in any Masjid is greater than the reward of praying at home. The reward of congregational prayer is much greater than praying alone.

None of the things mentioned in your question can be concrete evidence of Sihr or black magic etc. Ahlul Bayt (AS)'s teachings to avoid all types of Sihr, black magic and any harm is to recite Ayatul Kursi, Sura Falaq and Sura An Naas along with Sadaqa and Du'a. You then need not to worry about any thing as far as you are protected by these Quranic verses.

Is it necessary for me to perform Qasr prayers during my 3-4 day visits to my home city while I work in another city 400km away?

Your Prayer (Salah) in your home city is always full. Your home city remains your home city as far as you still intend to live their in the future. If you have no intention to leave be there any more then it does not remain as your home city.

Given the difficulties in following the Imam, challenges in reciting important Duas, discomfort with varying practices, and distractions during audible recitation, is it permissible for me to perform Farz Salah at home to enhance its quality and focus?

Performing Salah with the congregation has great importance in Islam and the reward of Salah with the congregation can not be compared with Salah individually at home. If you feel that praying at home makes you focus more, you can do so in recommended Salah which is double the number of the daily obligatory Prayers. Daily obligatory Prayers are 17 Rak'ats, while the daily recommended Prayers are 34 Rak'ats. It is mentioned in many authentic Hadeeths to perform recommended Prayers at home and perform the daily obligatory Prayers in the Masjid with the congregation (Jama'ah).

No. Angles do not enter houses where idols are kept. Pictures are not idols. In Arabic the word صورة in Arabic of that time means an ideal but now it is used for picture which new meaning. In Quran the word سيّارة Sayyarah has been mentioned for caravan, but not in new Arabic of today, it is used for car nor caravan.

Although it is highly recommended to pray in a mosque, especially if you live close to it, but it would be permissible to pray at hom if the person wants to, or for whatever reason.

From a shariah perspective, it is not prohibited (as long as one is not intentionally doing it to insult Allah or Ahl al-Bayt).

However, it is better not to do it in the first 10 days of Muharram, or on Ashura, if there is a choice. (For instance, you have not been evicted.)

From a hadith perspective, those are the times most emphasised for remembering Imam Husayn (A), but it is customary these days to observe all of Muharram and Safar.

So in general, it is better not to move during Muhrram, if it is optional and can be postponed, but sometimes there is no choice, or there is a strong reason to move. However, this is a matter of personal piety and observance, not shariah.

One thing to consider is that some people may be concerned that their new home lacks baraka if they move during this time. Then, if something goes wrong (and something always goes wrong in life!), they will assume this is because they moved during Muharram, and may not feel settled in their home. Even though this is a psychological reason, it may be better to avoid moving during this time for that reason.

Also, in some communities, people will be criticized if they do it during this time, and one has to decide whether or not to take into consideration the views of others.

In any case, it is your decision. Wishing you the best however it goes!

Should I pray at home more often in order to have more time to make Dua during Sujood, as compared to praying at the mosque where there is less opportunity for Dua due to the Imam's speed?

Praying in the Masjid and with Jamaa’ah (congregation) has greater reward than praying alone at home. This is in the obligatory Prayers, but performing recommended Prayers at home is much better than in the Masjid. While you perform recommended Prayers at home, you will have full chance to do long Sojood and recite long Du’a. So, kerfirn your obligatory Prayers in the Masjid and your recommended Prayers and supplication and worshipping at your home.
