QUESTION:

Today in Juma prayers in the first rakat after completion of surahs &
qunoot, I sort off sat down instead of bowing(rukoo),I then got up & joined
the imam in rukoo (without standing up fully).I have done sajda sahv.

Please advise if this is ok or what needs to be done.I could not get a
clarification since the imam here knows only arabic .Urgent please since I have
to know before its qaza if I have to pray again.

ANSWER:

There are certain acts in namaz that are RUKN (basic or fundamental) and
others are GHAYR-RUKN (non-basic). Omission of a RUKN, whether intentional
or by mistake, renders the namaz void. Being in a standing posture before
going into rukoo is a RUKN. Since you did not stand upright before the
rukoo, the namaz became void. However, if you had done this, the namaz
would have been valid and there would be no need to perform sajd-e sahw.
Thus, in your case in order to rectify the situation, you would need
to offer qada zuhr prayers.
