Ask A Question About Islam And Muslims

166 Questions

Enemies of Ahlul Bayt are many types. Some of them hate Ahlul Bayt because of their hatred to the Prophet which is in fact hatred to Allah. Such people are with enemies of Allah in hellfire as all the enemies of Allah will be sent to Hellfire as we read in Quran ( That is the recompense of the enemies of Allah: The Fire (Sura 41, verse 28).

Some enemies don't dear declaring their enmity against Ahlul Bayt but attack Shia Muslims just because of their following Ahlul Bayt (AS). Such people who hate Shia Muslims for no reason but only because of their following Ahlul Bayt are with the enemies of Ahlul Bayt as we read in statements from Ahlul Bayt (AS).

Some people don't know enough about Ahlul Bayt nor about Shia Muslims due to wrong or misleading information which made them have negative opinion about Shia Muslims or think that Shia Muslims are not following Ahlul Bayt. If they know the truth about Shia Muslims, they will not oppose them at all. Such type of people are not with enemies of Ahlul Bayt because they don't know the truth.

'Who will enter Paradise and who will not, is not a personal opinion, but we take what is in Quran and authentic Prophetic statements.

You can find an ample selection of texts about the Ahl al-Bayt ('a) here:

https://www.al-islam.org/tags/ahl-al-bayt

In particular, I recommend the following texts:

https://www.al-islam.org/brief-history-fourteen-infallibles

https://www.al-islam.org/fourteen-luminaries-islam-ahmad-ahmadi-birjandi

Otherwise there's plenty of biographies of each individual Infallible ('s) on Al-Islam.org.

InshaAllah this helps.

Fi aman Allah

Imam Ali (AS) did write Hadeeths which he heard from the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA). His book is called Al-Jaami'ah الجامعة. or Kitab Ali.

'It remained after him with the Infallible Imams and now it is with Imam Al-Mahdi (AS).

Ahlul Bayt (AS) encouraged their students to write books in Hadeeth and other fields of knowledge. Four hundred main books were complied by the sydents of Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (AS) but the enemies destroyed them. We have now Fiur Hadeeth books ( Al-Kaafi, Al-Tahtheen, Al-Istibsaar and Al-Faqeeh) which contain main narrations which are much more than the narrations in Bukhari and Muslim.

Bismihi ta'ala

As we have high esteeemed regards and reverence to the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), and venerate and respect them very much, we avoid prying into things that have absolutely no benefit for us.

When we think of the Ma'sumeen (a.s.), we must think of them in a lofty way, keep away from intrusive thoughts, or questions that won't have any benefit at all.

However, to answer this question, there are some scholars who believe they did not use the restroom, and did not need to relieve themselves.

Other scholars say they are humans, similar to other humans, as the Quran says, and that there are narrations that mention the Prophet (s.a.w.) leaving somewhere, covering his head, and was for the purpose of using the toilet.

We as Shi'ah do believe that nobody at all had ever seen the Ma'sumeen (a.s.) relieve themselves.

We also believe that Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) have been purified, as Ayatul-Tathir [Quran, 33:33] says. This could mean, as some interpret, that if they did relieve themselves, it would not be impure.

In any case, we should focus on what we can learn from Ahlul Bayt (a.s). This matter has no use whatsoever, and is usually brought up by shallow individuals who divert away from the core teachings of our Imams (a.s.).

And Allah knows best
