The True Shi'a In The Words Of Imam Al-Sadiq (A)
Abu Sabah turns to Imam Al-Sadiq, says: 'Ya Ja'far ibn Muhammad, if you knew how much trouble we have to go through because we are a follower of yours? How much trouble we have to go through because we are attributed to you?' And the Imam asks him 'What do you mean? Can you explain it?' And Imam Al-Sadiq knows what he means. But Imam Al-Sadiq wants to get to a point, and this is the point that Imam Al-Sadiq may be would have made to many of us, even today.
He says 'What do you mean by this?' He said 'Well, Ja'far ibn Muhammad, many times I am in conversation with the person, I am trying to tell him a point, I am trying to prove something to him, from the Muslims. And before I can actually get to my point, he disrespects me and says 'Ja'fariyun khabith,' don't even talk to him, he's a follower of Ja'far ibn Muhammad. Leave him.' They disrespect me. And Imam Al-Sadiq said 'Oh, so you mean that you go through trouble because you are attributed to us?' He said 'Yes, yes Ya Ibn ar-Rasul Allah because we're followers of yours.' And in my words, Imam Al-Sadiq responded to him 'It doesn't make sense though, because our followers, they have certain attributes, these attributes, we don't find it in you.'
Very beautiful, Imam Al-Sadiq is saying. He says 'How is it so, that they give you a hard time, when you're not truly a follower of ours? If you were truly a follower of ours, it would make sense, they give you a hard time, you are Ja'fari. But when you're not truly Ja'fari, why are they giving you a hard time?' It is a beautiful wording from Imam Al-Sadiq.
Then Imam Al-Sadiq says: 'If you want to know who are part of the Shi'a and our Shi'a group are very, very small.' He says 'This is what you should be looking for. ' Inna ma as-habi' - my as-haab are only those 'man ishtadda wara'ahuw' - the one who is severely fearful of Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala. 'Wa amila li khaliqihi' - and he does work for Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala. He doesn't just sit there and say 'Yes because I did this tabbarukat, things are going to be done. Things will be taken care of. I have Imam Al-Husayn on my side.' No, 'Wa amila li khaliqihi,' he does work, he puts in effort. 'Wa raja'a thawabahu, fa haula'i as-habi - they are my companions.' If I come across a person like that and they give him a hard time, then it makes sense. But I mean you, you don't really follow us.
Abu Sabah si rivolge all'Imam Al-Sadiq [la pace di Dio sia su di lui] e chiede: "Ya Ja'far ibn Muhammad, se tu sapessi quanti problemi dobbiamo affrontare perché siamo tuoi seguaci... Quanti problemi dobbiamo affrontare perché siamo attribuiti a te..." E l'Imam [la pace di Dio sia su di lui] gli chiede: "Cosa vuoi dire? Puoi spiegarlo?" L'Imam al-Sadiq sa [già] cosa intende, ma vuole stabilire un punto, e probabilmente lo farebbe anche oggi con molti di noi.
Gli chiede: 'Cosa vuoi dire con questo?' ed egli risponde: 'Be' Ja'far ibn Muhammad, molte volte sto parlando con qualcuno, sto cercando di chiarire un punto, sto cercando di dimostrargli qualcosa dal punto di vista dei musulmani e, prima che io possa effettivamente arrivare al punto, quello mi manca di rispetto e dice: "Ja'fariyun khabith": "Non parlargli nemmeno, è un seguace di Ja'far ibn Muhammad. Lascialo perdere". Mi mancano di rispetto!"
L'Imam al-Sadiq [la pace di Dio sia su di lui] dice: 'Oh, quindi vuoi dire che passi dei guai perché sei identificato come uno dei nostri?', 'Sì, sì ya Ibn ar-Rasul Allah, perché siamo tuoi seguaci". Con parole mie, l'Imam al-Sadiq [la pace di Dio sia su di lui] gli risponde: 'Non ha molto senso però, perché i nostri seguaci hanno certe qualità e queste qualità in voi non le vediamo."
E' molto bello quello che dice l'Imam al-Sadiq [la pace di Dio sia su di lui NdT] . Dice: "Com'è possibile che ti diano del filo da torcere quando non sei veramente un nostro seguace? Se tu fossi veramente un nostro seguace avrebbe senso: ti danno del filo da torcere perché sei 'ja'fari'. Ma visto che non sei veramente 'ja'fari', perché ti danno del filo da torcere?". È molto ben detto.
Poi l'Imam al-Sadiq [la pace di Dio sia su di lui] dice: "Se vuoi sapere chi è sciita - e il nostro gruppo di sciiti è molto piccolo -è questo che devi cercare: 'Inna ma as-habi', i miei 'as-haab' [compagni] sono soltanto quelli 'man ishtadda wara'ahuw' che hanno un profondo timore di Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala. 'Wa amila li khaliqihi', e lavorano per Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala."
[I veri sciiti] non stanno con le mani in mano e non si limitano a dire: "Ho questo 'tabbarukat' [letteralmente 'cosa consacrata', che ha in sé la 'barakah': la benedizione di Dio], andrà tutto bene, qualcuno se ne occuperà, ho l'Imam al-Husayn dalla mia parte". No: 'Wa amila li khaliqihi': [i veri sciiti] lavorano, ci mettono impegno. "Wa raja'a thawabahu, fa haula'i as-habi": "Questi sono i miei compagni. Se incontro una persona così e sento che gli danno del filo da torcere, allora ha senso. Ma tu? tu non ci segui veramente."
Abu Sabah wendet sich an Imam Al-Sadiq und sagt: "Ya Ja'far ibn Muhammad, wenn du wüsstest, wie viel Ärger wir erleiden müssen, weil wir ein Anhänger von dir sind? Wenn du wüsstest, wie viel Ärger wir durchmachen müssen, weil wir dir zugeschrieben werden?" Und der Imam fragt ihn: "Was meinst du? Kannst du das erklären?" Und Imam Al-Sadiq weiß, was er meint. Aber Imam Al-Sadiq will auf einen Punkt hinaus, den Imam Al-Sadiq vielleicht vielen von uns auch heute noch gesagt hätte.
Er fragt: "Was meinst du damit?" Er sagt: "Nun, Ja'far ibn Muhammad, oft bin ich im Gespräch mit jemandem, ich versuche, ihm etwas zu sagen, ich versuche, ihm etwas zu beweisen, von den Muslimen. Und bevor ich zu meinem Punkt kommen kann, wird er respektlos und sagt: 'Ja'fariyun khabith, rede nicht einmal mit ihm, er ist ein Anhänger von Ja'far ibn Muhammad. Lass ihn.' Sie respektieren mich nicht. Und Imam Al-Sadiq sagte: "Oh, du meinst also, dass du Schwierigkeiten bekommst, weil du uns zugeschrieben wirst?" Er sagte: "Ja, ja, Ya Ibn ar-Rasul Allah, weil wir Anhänger von dir sind." Und Imam Al-Sadiq antwortete ihm: "Das macht aber keinen Sinn, denn unsere Anhänger haben bestimmte Eigenschaften, diese Eigenschaften finden wir bei Ihnen nicht."
In folgenden schönen Worten sagt Imam Sadiq: "Wie kann es sein, dass sie dir das Leben schwer machen, wenn du nicht wirklich ein Anhänger von uns bist? Wenn du wirklich ein Anhänger von uns wärst, würde es Sinn machen, dass sie dir das Leben schwer machen, du bist ein Ja'fari. Aber wenn du nicht wirklich ein Ja'fari bist, warum machen sie dir dann das Leben schwer?" Das ist eine schöne Formulierung von Imam Al-Sadiq.
Dann sagt Imam Al-Sadiq: "Wenn ihr wissen wollt, wer zu den Schiiten gehört, und unsere schiitische Gruppe ist sehr, sehr klein." Er sagt: "Das ist es, wonach du suchen solltest: inna ma as-habi' - meine as-haab besteht nur aus denen, - 'man ishtadda wara'ahuw' - die Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala sehr fürchten. Wa amila li khaliqihi' - und er arbeitet für Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala. Er sitzt nicht einfach da und sagt: 'Ja, weil ich diese Tabbarukat gemacht habe, werden sich die Angelegenheiten von selbst erledigen und es wird sich darum gekümmert. Ich habe Imam Al-Husayn an meiner Seite.' Nein, 'Wa amila li khaliqihi', er verrichtet Arbeit, er strengt sich an. Wa raja'a thawabahu, fa haula'i as-habi - sie sind meine Gefährten. Wenn ich einem solchen Menschen begegne und sie ihm das Leben schwer machen, dann macht das Sinn. Aber du, du folgst uns nicht wirklich."
