Heartbreaking Story from Battle of Nahrawan
But I tell you of the whole incident of Nahrawan. One thing breaks the heart whenever you remember it, I swear. On the night prisoners who remained, you see, there were some whom Ali Ibn Abi Talib didn't kill. They came out and at the end, they said we are not going to fight. Here, take out our hands and let us go. Abu Ibn Al-Ansari has said to them: those who want to leave to go to Kufa or Mada'in, you can go. We will not fight you.
There are a few. And then in the battle, they were called as prisoners. Of them, one of them who was caught, really, the story breaks the heart. There are some stories you narrate. Honestly, they break the heart. One of them was caught. Is, you came to Aba Abdillah. Imam Husayn was in the battle. He saw Imam Husayn. He said: Husayn? He said yes. He said to him: the rope around my hand is hurting me. So Imam looked at him. He said it's not like my father to ever put a rope around someone's hand in this way.
Ali Ibn Abi Talib never like to hurt a prisoner. So he said to him: Husayn, if you don't mind, ask your father to loosen this rope from my hand, I have come here to fight him, but you put the rope around my hand. Imam went back to Imam Amir Al-Mu'minin, he said to him, father, he said, yes? He said that person over there, his rope around his hand hurts him, and he asked me if I was untie it, and I speak to you. Imam said it is not like me to tie a rope around someone's hand that hurts them. But if you... He said: Father, he asked through me. And anyone who asks through me, how can I reject them? Yes. Allah.
Imam went back. He removed the rope from the wrists of Shimr Ibn Dhu 'l-Jawshan. In 38 A.H., you removed the rope from the wrists, and 22 years later, on the tenth of Muharram, Shimr sits on your chest. Yes. You will never see magnanimity like in Aba Abdillah. He could have easily finished him there and then, but you were trying to give him a hint that oh, Shimr, here you are asking me look how quickly I'm ready to help you.
38 A.H., Shimr Ibn Dhu 'l-Jawshan is in a rope. 22 years later, he sits on the chest of the son of Fatimat az-Zahra', grabs the neck of Aba Abillah. He grabs it. Instead of a sharp knife, he wants to put the blunt side of the knife on the neck of Aba Abdillah. And Zaynab sists and watches. Shimr on the chest of Husayn. Zayn Al-'Abidin watches. Shimr on the chest of Husayn. Fatimat az-Zahra' watches, Shimr on the chest of Husayn. Instead of honoring him, he decapitated his neck. The neck which Rasul Allah used to kiss everyday!
De tous les incidents de Nahrawan, une chose vous brise le coeur chaque fois que vous vous en souvenez, je vous le jure. Parmi les 9 prisonniers qui sont restés, vous voyez, il y en avait certains qu'Ali Ibn Abi Talib n'a pas tués. Ils sont sortis et, à la fin, ils ont dit que nous n'allions pas nous battre. Tenez, retirez nos mains et laissez-nous partir. Abu Ibn Al-Ansari leur a dit : ceux qui veulent partir pour aller à Kufa ou Mada'in, vous pouvez partir. Nous ne vous combattrons pas.
Il y en a quelques-uns, au cours de la bataille, ils ont été faits prisonniers. L'un d'entre eux, qui a été capturé, m'a vraiment brisé le cœur. Il y a des histoires que vous racontez. Honnêtement, elles me brisent le cœur. L'un des prisonniers qui a été capturé est venu à Aba Abdillah. L'imam Husayn était au combat. Il a vu l'Imam Husayn. Il dit : Husayn, la corde autour de ma main me fait mal. L'Imam l'a regardé. Il a dit : ce n'est pas le genre de mon père de mettre une corde autour de la main de quelqu'un de cette façon.
Ali Ibn Abi Talib n'aimait jamais blesser un prisonnier. Il lui dit donc : Husayn, si cela ne te dérange pas, demande à ton père de détacher cette corde de ma main, je suis venu ici pour le combattre, mais tu as mis la corde autour de ma main. L'imam est retourné voir l'imam Amir Al-Mu'minin. Il lui a dit : Père, la personne là-bas m'a dit que sa corde autour de sa main lui fait mal, et il m'a demandé si je pouvais le détacher. De ce fait, je vous le demande. Imam Ali (as) a dit que ce n'était pas son genre d'attacher une corde autour de la main de quelqu'un au point de lui faire du mal. Imam Houssein (as) répondit : "Mais Père, c'est par moi qu'il a demandé. Et quiconque demande par mon intermédiaire, comment puis-je le rejeter" ?
L'imam retourne sur ses pas. Il a enlevé la corde des poignets de Shimr Ibn Dhu'l-Jawshan. En 38AH de l'hégire, vous avez enlevé la corde des poignets, et 22 ans plus tard, le 10ème jour de Muharram, Shimr s'assoit sur votre poitrine. Vous ne verrez jamais la magnanimité d'Aba Abdillah. Il aurait pu facilement l'achever sur-le-champ, mais il a essayé de lui donner un indice : " Oh, Shimr, ici tu me demandes de l'aide, regarde à quelle vitesse je suis prêt à t'aider.
38 de l'hégire, Shimr Ibn Dhu'l-Jawshan est attaché à une corde. 22 ans plus tard, il s'assoit sur la poitrine du fils de Fatimat az-Zahra', saisit le cou d'Aba Abillah. Il le saisit. Au lieu d'un couteau tranchant, il veut mettre le côté émoussé du couteau sur le cou d'Aba Abdillah.
Zaynab assiste à la scène. Shimr sur la poitrine de Husayn. Zayn Al-'Abidin regarde. Shimr sur la poitrine de Husayn.
Fatimat az-Zahra' regarde, Shimr sur la poitrine de Husayn. Au lieu de l'honorer, il a décapité son cou. Le cou que Rasul Allah embrassait tous les jours !
