Muharram is the time of the year where the lovers of the Ahlulbayt (as) from across the globe, gather in their hundreds and thousands to mourn the sacrifice of the Holy Prophet's grandson, the third righteous Imam of the religion of Islam - Imam Husayn (as). In the city of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, Muharram is undoubtedly the most anxiously waited and busiest period, where the local communities (the Khoja Shia Ithnaasheri community and the Bilal Muslim community) engage in several activities & projects with the aim of bringing the events which unfolded in Karbala, to life and to share it with the extended communities which reside alongside them side by side.
