Is it necessary to purify oneself if dog saliva has entered the body due to any reason? If so, how can one do so?

If you mean on surface of body, yes, it needs to be purified, but if you mean inside body, like you swallowed dog's saliva, then nothing needs to be done.

I have heard that while doing Ghusl it is mandatory to make every hair of the body wet, but I feel that would require a lot of time and also cause a wastage of water. What is the correct method?
