Sawm (Fasting)

Fasting in Islam, (known as Sawm (صَوْم) or Siyām (صِيَام), also commonly known as Rūzeh or Rōzah (Persian: روزه‎)), is the practice of abstaining, usually from food, drink, smoking, and sexual activity. During the Islamic holy month of Ramadan Sawm is observed between dawn and sunset when the evening adhan is sounded.

If you leave the boarder if your city or town or area before noon, the fat of the day is invalid, but if you leave after noon then the fast of that day remains valid.

If you reach your destination where you intend to remain for ten days or more, you Prayer should be full. If you reach there before noon, bayou can have the intention of fasting that day of arrival and your fast will be valid as far as you reached their before noon and you intend to stay there for ten or more days.

Fasting in Islam has got a clear procedure in Quran and authentic Hadeeth. We need to follow it and not create or follow another fasting.

You need to consult you doctors whether have just one meal in 24 hours is not harmful for your health.

It is allowed to have one mail meal if you are not fasting but don't harm your health or cause dehydration.

I advise you to fast, so that you will get the spiritual and health benefits as well as reward of fasting.

Wassalam.

If you were Baaligh at that time when you deliberately broke your obligatory fast, you have committed a sinful act and need to seek forgiveness and compensate  that day of fast by fasting a day of Qadha fast, and feed sixty poor believers as Kaffara of deliberately breaking an obligatory fast or fasting two months in stead.

'If you were not Baaligh, then no Qadha nor Kaffara on you.

Waking up for eating or drinking in Sehri (Sohoor) is not a condition in fasting. Fasting is must on Baaligh Muslim whether they wake up or don't wake up for Sehri.

Baaligh girl ( who completed full nine lunar years) must fast the month of Ramadan. Not fasting is a major sin which requires then Qadha of that day, and Kaffara of fasting two months or feeding of sixty poor believers, for every day of not fasting.

Giving Kaffara does not make it permissible.
