It's interesting that you have awareness of your usual manner. Have you been told that by someone else, or this is your own awareness? Being around others who are compassionate can help you to learn in a practical sense how to be more compassionate. Sometimes our behaviour patterns have been inculcated in us from childhood by the general dynamics and accepted codes of behaviour in the family, and they are hard to break. If you want to change your own patterns, you can try to do so in small ways where you feel comfortable and not awkward. You don't have to do big gestures that make you feel as if you are not your self. Once you get used to small changes, you can then work on other small changes, step by step.

Ziyarat Ashura is one of greatest recitations narrated from Ahlul Bayt (AS). It was narrated through authentic chain of narrators from Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (AS). It has great benefits in solving problems and getting us peaceful and successful life here and hereafter. Many of our great scholars, including Grand Ayatullah Na'eeni, the teacher of Ayatullah Khoei, said that its benefits are more than any other recitation which he knows.
We have authentic narrations that Imam Al-Mahdi (AS) advised sincere believers not to miss Ziyarat Ashura nor Night Prayer nor Ziyarat Al-Jami'ah.
Ziyarat Ashura does not need a special method to be performed. It is recommended to perform Wudhu, face the direction of Karbala and recite it.
It is very useful to gift the reward of it to the Infallible Ahlul Bayt and your parents and relatives and all the Mo'mineen and Mo'minaat who are alive or deceased. This will make your reward much greater.

Thank you for your question. It is generally praiseworthy to be an approachable and kind person in normal circumstances. However, that is within the bounds of wisdom and chastity. It is not necessary to reply a typed salaam whether that be by email or other forms of instant messenger.
