Is The Euphrates Mentioned In The Bible And The Quran?
Assalamu alaykum, wa Rahmatu Allah. Yes, the Euphrates is mentioned within the Bible and the Holy Qur'an. And there are many who attend Majalis Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam, without knowing just how important, how sacred and how virtuous the Euphrates is.
It doesn't just flow through Turkey, Syria and Iraq. That's not why it's so important. It's mentioned within the Bible and within the Holy Qur'an because it's seen as one of the Springs of Paradise. It's seen as being sweet and cooling. And so within the Qur'an and within the Bible, you see the references there in the Bible. In the chapter of Jeremiah, Chapter 46, there is the discussion of the Euphrates.
And in the Qur'an, in Chapter 25, Verse 53, again you have got the discussion of the Euphrates or the discussion of the word 'Furat' (25:53). So this particular river was also seen as the Mahr of Fatimat az-Zahraʾ, alayha as-salam. And with Imam Sahib al-Zaman, you will find that this river will flow freely in Kufa, for everyone to drink from. The reality is that whenever we remember the Euphrates, we remember the fact that many animals drank from the Euphrates and tyrants had access to it. Yet the grandson of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, was lying thirsty there, with his brother alongside him.

Es fließt nicht nur durch die Türkei, Syrien und den Irak. Das ist nicht der Grund, warum er so wichtig ist. Er wird in der Bibel und im Heiligen Koran erwähnt, weil er als eine der Quellen des Paradieses angesehen wird. Sie wird als süß und kühlend angesehen. Im Koran und in der Bibel gibt es also Hinweise darauf. Im Kapitel von Jeremia, Kapitel 46, wird der Euphrat erwähnt.
Und im Koran, in Kapitel 25, Vers 53, ist wieder vom Euphrat die Rede oder von dem Wort "Furat" (25:53). Dieser besondere Fluss wurde also auch als Mahr von Fatimat az-Zahraʾ, alayha as-salam, angesehen. Und mit Imam Sahib al-Zaman werden Sie feststellen, dass dieser Fluss in Kufa frei fließen wird, so dass jeder daraus trinken kann. In Wirklichkeit erinnern wir uns, wann immer wir uns an den Euphrat erinnern, an die Tatsache, dass viele Tiere aus dem Euphrat tranken und Tyrannen Zugang zu ihm hatten. Doch der Enkel des Heiligen Propheten, Friede sei mit ihm und seiner Familie, lag dort durstig, und sein Bruder war neben ihm.
