Are We Independent from Allah (SWT)?

When I do something, it is attributed to me. How? I have free will and thus Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala attributes the sin to me. I am responsible for my sin and my actions because Allah gave me free will and I was the one that chose to do the haram. So in that way I do have free will.

So there is what? There is some choice. But at the same time there is not complete free choice. How? In that it is Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala that predestined that I have free choice. Who is the one that gave me free choice? Allah.

Who is the one that gave me life? Allah. And we have to pay close attention to this fact that many people think that Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala just created us and that is it, I'm living. No, brothers and sisters every second of my life I need Allah to give me further life.

So if Allah cuts the source of life for 1 second, I will die. It is just like a power generator. If you want a light bulb to stay on, you cannot just turn it on and then the light turns on and then turn it off. It is not going to stay on. As soon as you turn it off, the light bulb goes.

So every second of light needs what? Needs power. It needs a source. This is how we are. Every second of my life I need Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala to constantly give me life. Give me life.

Give me life. Give me life. So who is the one that gave me life? Allah. Who is the one that gave me free choice?

Who is the one that gave me the free will? Who is the one that created me as an autonomous human being? Allah did not give this wall the free will, right? He gave me. So that is why you find my very free will, my very choice and decision, my actions are attributed to me and to Allah. How are they attributed to me? Is that I make the decision at the end of day. But who was the one that gave me that free choice?

It was Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala. Allah is watching. Allah has given me a rope. That is the source. Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala can cut that source any second.

And because he has complete control over me, there is no tafweedh. Don't think you are independent from Allah. Allah can cut and take your life and your free will, any second. And if he takes it, it is gone. So how do you have free will? From Allah?

So those who are Mu'tazilah, their mistake was they say we are independent of Allah? No. If you are independent of Allah, you would not exist. Every second of your free will is from Allah.

So you rely on Allah. But at the same time Allah did it. Allah, all he did was he gave you the free will. He did not make the decision for you.
