In the Qur'an it is mentioned that Allah tells the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, to say to the people: "Say:- If you love Allah follow me-" (3:31).
To preserve the sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, and observe all divine orders is one of the main conditions for having real love of Allah.
