Sunni

Sunni Islam is the largest denomination of Islam, followed by the majority of the world's Muslims. Its name comes from the word sunnah, referring to the behaviour of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The differences between Sunni and Shia Muslims arose from a disagreement over the succession to Muhammad and subsequently acquired broader political significance, as well as theological and juridical dimensions.

It is permissible for any one to wear a chain with Zulfiqar as a pendant. Zulfiqar is the sword of Hazrat Ali (AS) who is leader of all faithful and the greatest human being after the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA). Love of Ali is in the heart of every noble human being.

There are many books on the subject of unreliable narrators. Such books are within the science of Al-Jarh wal-Ta'deel. Famous books among Sunni sects are Kitab Al-Dhu'faa' Al- Kabeer by Al-Oqaili,

Al-Dhu'faa Al-Sagheer by al-Bukhari,

al-Kaamil fil Dhu'afaa by Ibn Oday Al-Jarjaani.

You can also refer to Shia books like Al-Ghadeer to read about famous narrators who used to lie and fabricate narrations to serve the purpose of the rulers who were enemies of Ahlul bayt (AS).

You need to be sure about your future and never take risk on your faith.

If he claims to be a Shia, why does he pray on the way of others? How can you trust him claiming being a Shia when he is not practicing Shia Islam in the most important worship which is the daily prayers?

You should not hurry in accepting his proposal until you have enough evidence that his claim of being a Shia Muslim is authentic.
Marriage between Muslims is allowed provided that there is no risk on your religious practice in the future.

Bismihi ta'ala

Irrespective of what maddhab he may be, it is extremely important to recognise and affirm good qualities for your potential spouse, especially in being honest and truthful.

It is permissible for a Shi'i to marry a Sunni, as long as he/she is able to preserve their Shi'i identity and practice their Shi'i ways without pressure or backlash.

If he is interested in the Shi'i madhhab, then that will be his choice, but he needs to make it clear to you as to why he is saying he is Shi'i, but, might be doing certain things the Sunni way.

Is it because he is in fear of his life, and therefore he needs to do taqiyah? Is it due to lack of understanding, and what slight differences there are between the Shi'i method of praying and the 4 Sunni methods?

Or, is it him trying to please you and make your hear what you wish to hear only, which means he is not be honest to you?

This is a conversation that needs to happen.

With prayers for your success.

Allah (SWT) knows the fate of everyone after death. We are responsible to seek true knowledge about the message of Islam and follow it. Everyone will be asked in the Day of Judgement about his faith and practice. Muslims will be questioned whether they obeyed the Prophetic orders or not. Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) ordered all Muslims to keep following Quran and Ahlul Bayt (AS). This is in the authentic known as Hadeeth al-Thaqalain which is narrated in main Sunni and Shia books of Hadeeth e.g. (Saheeh Muslim, Hadeeth number 4425, Tirmithi; 3718, Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal ; 10681, Al-Mustadrak by Al-Nisabouri; 4576, Al-Sunan al-Khubra by Al-Nasaa'ee; 6921 and many other Sunni books.

Those who did not care to search for the truth will be questioned and those who knew but did not follow will face the result of their ignoring the orders of the Prophet (SAWA).

We believe that all Muslims who sincerely believe in Allah and the Messenger  will ultimately go to Paradise even after they had to face results of their mistakes. This applies on followers of all Muslim sects except the enemies of Ahlul Bayt (AS).

I feel it is good to introduce people to the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (A) through the hadith transmitted from the Imams. So, a good collection of hadith, such as _The Scale of Wisdom: A Compendium of Shi'i Hadith_, or the book that was circulated a couple decades ago, _A Bundle of Flowers_.

Some of the translations of books by Ayatollah Motahhari are also quite lucid and accessible.

Also sharing du'as like Du'a Kumayl.

One really knows more about what Shia Islam is about by reading these types of things and getting a sense of the worldview and understandings behind them, and what the tradition of scholarship is like, rather than some of the more polemical issues (such as the details of how to do wudhu or disagreements over specific personalities), unless the person has a specific interest in certain formal matters of sectarian debate. The essence of the differences between Sunnism and Shi'ism really goes beyond the types of sectarian issues that are debated about, but this sort of thing can be much harder to put into words.

Imamah is the divine leadership after the Prophet (SAWA) to lead and guide Muslims to the real teachings of Islam. It was mentioned in hundreds of times by the Prophet (SAWA) including the greatest announcement in Islam on the Day of Ghadeer when the Prophet ordered all Muslims to give allegiances to Ali as the commander of the faithful.

Muslims are required to obey the Prophet (SAWA) as Allah (SWT) says in Quran : Who obeys the Prophet has in fact obeyed Allah.(Sura Annisaa', verse 80).

There are hundreds of authentic narrations in Sunni books about this most authentic prophetic order

Thank you for your question. One of the conditions for a prayer leader according to the School of Ahl al-Bayt (as) is that they are baligh. If they are not baligh, that prayer cannot be lead by them and so if someone participated in that prayer they will need to repeat it.

May you always be successful

The ways of worshipping Allah The Glorious are different in different faiths like Judaism , Christianity and Islam. We take the way of Islam because it is the most authentic being practiced by the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) who can not be compared with narrators of other faiths. Likewise, the prophetic Prayer (Salah) narrated by Ahlul Bayt (AS) who lived with him and knew the most about his practice is the most authentic. Non Shia ways of Salah are been narrated from different narrators who did not live with the Prophet, even some of them did not meet him at all, as well as the non Shia way Salah are contradicting each other that is why you find the ways of Salah in Sunni sects and subjects  are different. Even timings of Assr and Isha Salah is different according to Hanafi sect and Shafi'ee sect. The way folding arms during Salah despite being never done by the Prophet, but it is been done by Sunni different sects and subjects in different ways. With all the differences among Sunni groups which you can read about them in Sunni books like Bidayat al-Mujtahid and Al-Fiqh ala al-Mathaahib al-Arba'ah,Bhowanipore can you trust that their ways are authentically narrated from the Prophet?

Shia way of Salah is narrated from Ahlul Bayt, The most pious who lived with Prophet and saw him always praying
