Qur'an

The Quran (القرآن‎, romanized: al-Qurʼān, literally meaning "the recitation"), also romanized Qur'an or Koran, is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God (Allah). It is widely regarded as the finest work in classical Arabic literature. The Quran is divided into chapters (Arabic: سورة sūrah, plural سور suwar), which are subdivided into verses (Arabic: آية āyah, plural آيات āyāt).

Qur'an 7:22 says: Thus he [Satan] lured them on through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their nakedness was exposed to them, and they began to sew together the leaves of the Garden to cover themselves. And their Lord called out to them, “Did I not forbid you from that tree, and tell you that Satan is a manifest enemy unto you?”

Some narrations say that, after this occurred, they sewed together fig leaves to cover themselves.

It is also narrated from Imam al-Sadiq (A), when somoene asked about this verse (so you are not the first person!), that the private parts of Adam and Eve were originally not apparent outwardly, but when they tasted the fruit, they became visible.

God knows best.

It is obligatory to recite in the first and second Rak'at of every Prayer, Sura Al-Hamd and another Sura. Reciting must be by your tongue and not in your mind only. If you have difficulty in reciting, you should recite in the way which you can, even if it is not perfectly correct, as far as it is the best that you can. Remembering the Sura in your mind is not reciting. Those who totally paralysed should remember the Sura in their mind because that are totally unable to move their tongue nor their lips, but as you are able to move your tongue and lips, you must recite the Sura in the way which you can.

In addition to below, it should be noted that the Messenger (pbuh) is the addressee in many parts of the Qur'an, meaning that much of the Qur'an speaks directly to Prophet, albeit not always mentioned by name. Additionally, other parts of the Qur'an make third-person references to the Messenger (pbuh).

Taking these facts into consideration, we can conclude that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned more than any other prophet in the Qur'an.

It is because of the great similarity between what happened to Prophet Musa (AS) and Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) and what happened hy and to the community to whom Prophet Musa was sent, and what will happen by and to Muslims who are supposed to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA).

Allah (SWT) did mention in Quran (Verily, We have sent to you (O mankind) a Messenger (Muhammad) who is a witness on you, as We have sent to Fir'aun a Mesenger (Musa). Sura 73, Verse 15.

We don't read in the whole Quran any verse like this verse of similarity. Allah (SWT) never mention similarity between Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) and any other prophet like it is between him and Prophet Musa (AS).

The verses mentioning the sufferings of Musa from the disobedience from his own community (Bani Israel ) are warning the Muslims from similar attitude of disobedience of the orders of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA). Allah (SWT) said in Quran ( O you who believe, Be not like those who annoyed Musa, then Allah saved him from what they claimed ( against him) Sura 33, verse 69).

In Sura Al-Jum'ah which is recommended to be recited on Friday Prayers and many other prayers on Thursday night and Friday morning, we read how Allah (SWT) is warning the Muslims from the fate of those who were claiming believing in Prophet Musa (AS) and were been asked to follow Torah, but they failed to obey. Allah mentioned them as an example for Muslims and said they are like a donkey carrying books which means that Muslims who will not obey the Prophet and Quran will be like these who denied the signs of Allah.

Allah (SWT) did mention in Quran that the successors of Musa are twelve ( Indeed, Allah Has taken the covenant from Bani Israel (Musa's community) and We appointed twelve (divine) leaders . Sura 5, verse 12. This verse and above verse (Al-Muzzammil: 15) confirming the similarity between Prophet Musa and Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) should be enough evidence to prove that the successors of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) are twelve. This Quranic evidence confirms many authentic prophetic statements mentioning the Twelve successors of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) which are mentioned in Shia and Sunni books of Hadeeth including Saheeh Bukhari : 6682,  Saheeh Muslim : 3393, Musnad Ibn Hanbal :3593, Tirmithi; 2149 and many other Sunni books.

Prominent Sunni scholar from Al-Azhar in Egypt ( Shaikh Mahmoud Abu Rayyan) who did thorough research comparing between different Muslim sects said that if Muslims understand Quranic verses about Musa and Harun, they will understand that none than Ali (AS) is the real successor after the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA).

This subject has many details which can lead Muslim Ummah to unity under the orders of Allah (SWT) and the Prophet (SAWA).

from AllahYes. It is highly recommended to recite Quran and do good deeds on behalf of the Prophet (SAWA) and his Holy Progeny. Our great Ulama advise to recite Quran daily and gift the reward of it to Imam Al-Mahdi (AS). You will then get greater reward and more generous gifts from him.

It should be noted that reward of reciting Quran or any good deed can be gifted not only to the deceased ( Marhoumeen) but also to the living persons.

Quran is the greatest miracle in the whole history of the world, which proves that it can never be made by any one but Allah with His unlimited powers and unlimited Knowledge.

Miracle is something that people can not do it e.g. Prophet Jesus was granted by Allah the ability to revive the dead and cure the cureless. His miracles were limited to his time and no one can witness any of Jesus miracles now. The miracles of Quran is everlasting and can be witnessed by any one, any where and any time. Quran has challenged its enemies who used to claim that it was made by Muhammad, to bring like Quran even if the gather all their allies and supporters from Jinns and humans. The enemies of Quran failed to stand to the challenge. Allah then challenged them to bring ten chapters like the chapters of Quran which are 114 chapters. They failed again. Then Allah challenged them to bring just one chapter like any of the 114 chapters of Quran. They failed again. This challenge has proven that Quran is never from any human source otherwise the enemies of Quran could have brought anything like it even one chapter like any of its 114 chapters. Millions of Arabs today are non Muslims and they know the Arabic language very well, yet none of them could make even one line like Quran. This is an evidence which is enough for any one who thinks in proper way.

Quran was revealed on the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) from Allah (SWT) and the allegation of obtaining it from Christians and Jewish communities has no scientific value at all, when you read Quran and compare it with the Jewish and Christian texts. Some similarities are there because the common origin of all the three texts is from Allah, but Torah and Bible were distorted while Quran remained remained constant and unchanged.

There are four verses in Quran which we must prostrate when we recite or listen to any of them. They are: 1. The last verse in Sura al-'Alaq . 2. The last verse in Sura Najm. 3. A verse in Sura al-Sajda and 4. A verse in Sura Fussilat.

Immediate prostration is must and we don't need to have Wudhu, no facing Qibla in such prostration. Recitation during this prostration is recommended. It can be Subhanallah سبحان الله or Subhana Rabbi al-A'la Wa Bihamdih سبحان ربي الأعلى وبحمده m or any Du'a or Thikr of Allah even saying Ya Allah.

Generally, this understanding is taken from what has been narrated about the revelation of a surah or ayat.

However, sometimes there are contextual clues. For instance, if a verse discusses a historical event that happened after the hijrah, such as the Battle of Badr, it is understood that it was revealed in Medina.

Also, the style and content of Meccan verses are somewhat different from the style and content of Medinan verses. The Meccan verses tend to be shorter and focus more on the existence of God, the afterlife, and important ethical points, whereas the Medinan verses tend to be longer and also discuss matters such as legislation. This isn't an absolute rule but also lends some evidence.

Shia great scholars (Maraaji' of Taqleed) allow reciting Quran in any of the famous seven recitations including the Qira'ah of Warsh, although we believe that the Qira'ah of Hafs from 'Aasim is the most authentic as it was taken from Ameerul Mo'mineen Ali (AS).

We are allowed to pray behind any Muslim following any Muslim sect apart from Shia Islam, but we need to recite Al-Hamd and Sura whispering, bin the first and second Rak'ats for ourselves.
